Stolen Children's Month

About

In June 2025, families, organizers, and communities declared the first annual Stolen Children’s Month.

Stolen Children’s Month is a time to uplift the voices of children stolen by systems of family separation—including the family policing, adoption, and foster industries; the ICE detention and deportation machine; and the prison-industrial complex.

Throughout the month, impacted leaders organize vigils, love letter gatherings, storytelling projects, and healing circles to grieve, remember, and build toward healing justice.

Stolen Children’s Month was founded by Ashley Albert. Ashley launched the first annual campaign as part of her activist residency at Movement for Family Power.

The campaign was developed in collaboration with a Steering Committee of leaders from Adoptees Crossing Lines, K. Adeniyi Law, Movement for Family Power, Operation Stop CPS, Parents Supporting Parents NY, Reimagine Child Safety Coalition, Reproductive Justice in Adoption, and upEND Movement.
