About

Philly Childcare Collective (PCC) is a nonhierarchical, abolitionist collective that believes care is a collective responsibility and children are creative autonomous beings. PCC provides free and donation-based childcare for grassroots organizing meetings, actions, and events. We partner with groups led by working class people of color and especially caregivers organizing for economic, racial, and gender justice in their communities. Our primary goal is to make it possible for parents, caregivers, and children to participate in social movements. Beyond creating a network of care, we engage kids in activities and discussions to broaden their understanding of the world and catalyze them to think about justice and liberation. We see childcare as a political act, meeting a material need for care work while transforming a culture that oppresses children and caregivers.
