About

Maryland Families Together (MFT) is a community of advocates who are directly impacted by the family policing system and advocates who center the innovation and expertise of directly impacted people and communities. We envision a Maryland with more resources; and we are educating and advocating for changes to the child welfare system aka the family policing system, while fostering strong and resourced communities.We want our communities to B-Safe, B-More, and B-Together!

Support

  • Policy & Advocacy

    We host and support events such as listening sessions, know-your-rights trainings, teach-ins to file civil rights complaints when their rights have been violated, and educational sessions that help break down barriers to understanding family law. Additionally, we seek to uplift existing resources and connect people to other opportunities to engage in the work. We also do legislative advocacy to support bills that would benefit the families that we serve or oppose those that would be harmful.
