Policy & Advocacy
We engage in advocacy to change laws and policies that threaten the rights, well-being, and autonomy of families. We also lead the Parent Legislative Action Network (PLAN), a statewide coalition of impacted parents and young people, advocates, attorneys, social workers, and academics collaborating to effect systemic change through legislative advocacy.

Mutual Aid
JMACforFamilies helps run the St. Thomas Community Closet (located at 1405 Bushwick Avenue, Brooklyn, NY. 11207) in partnership with the St. Thomas Episcopal Church and Dr. John Robertson. The St. Thomas Closet is a community support for families seeking material resources.Families are welcome to come by and pick up free clothing, diapers, wipes, and other necessities for their children. Our priority each and every closet opening is to provide families with enough pampers to last them till the next opening. A pack of diapers go as quickly as a few days to maybe a week and we hope to give families the opportunity to get pampers for free every two weeks, possibly even sooner.

Healing & Wellness
We facilitate programs for parents and young people who have been impacted by the family policing system to heal, build community, and drive systemic change. Our programs create opportunities for peer support, political education, and activism.
