About

If/When/How defends and furthers reproductive justice in courts, capitols, and communities. If/When/How transforms lives and laws by challenging reproductive oppression around pregnancy, birth, abortion, and parenting. We provide legal services to people in crisis, reshape the law with policy and litigation, and mobilize lawyers and advocates for reproductive justice.

  • Policy & Advocacy

We work with our movement partners to advocate for an end to the family policing system through public education, Know Your Rights trainings, legal and non-legal research, and local and state policy campaigns. Join the If/When/How Network to get connected to opportunities for direct client support, research, and policy advocacy.

  • Technical Assistance

We support movement partners, health care providers, lawyers, and other advocates interested in protecting and reducing the harm to their clients or patients from the family policing system. This includes education and training on topics like mandatory reporting, CAPTA, pregnancy criminalization, and the intersection between reproductive justice and family policing. You can request technical assistance through our form.
