About

Change Collective KY is an independent, parent-led initiative working to strengthen family wellbeing, build community connections, and shift power toward families in Kentucky.

We believe families deserve access to information, supportive relationships, and resources without unnecessary surveillance, judgment, or institutional harm.

Our work includes community education, peer connection, resource navigation, parent advocacy, and opportunities for families to learn together. Through workshops, community events, and initiatives such as our Know Your Choices, Know Your Rights series, we help families better understand the systems affecting their lives and identify ways to advocate for themselves and one another.

Change Collective KY also works to build relationships with community organizations and advance conversations about family integrity, institutional accountability, and meaningful parent participation in decisions and policies that affect families.

Our approach is grounded in the belief that families are not simply recipients of services; they are essential leaders in shaping the communities and systems that impact their lives.

Support

  • Community Defense

    Change Collective KY supports families navigating CPS and other family-serving systems by providing rights-based education, peer connection, resource navigation, and community support. Through our Know Your Choices, Know Your Rights series and community partnerships, we help families access information, strengthen their ability to advocate for themselves, and build connections outside of punitive systems.

  • Policy & Advocacy

    Change Collective KY advocates for family integrity, institutional accountability, and policies that prioritize meaningful support over surveillance and unnecessary family separation. Grounded in lived experience, our work challenges harmful family policing practices and promotes the leadership of parents and families most directly impacted by these systems.

  • Technical Assistance

    Change Collective KY provides community-based informational guidance and resource navigation to families seeking to understand CPS processes, their rights, and available supports. Through educational workshops, accessible resources, and connections to community partners, we help families make informed decisions and identify appropriate advocacy and support options. We do not provide legal advice or legal representation.
